Pakeeza Fashion has served the Green Street community for over 20 years as one of East London's most-loved South Asian fashion houses - sarees, lehengas, designer suits and bridal wear for every occasion. The brief was to take everything the in-store experience represents (craftsmanship, heritage, elegance) and translate it into a modern online shop that reaches customers well beyond E15.
02.The Challenge
A loved local store with 20+ years of heritage but no way to reach customers online - losing sales to national ASOS-style competitors and struggling to serve loyal customers who'd moved away from East London.
Features
- No online store: Every sale required a trip to the Green Street shop - which meant zero reach beyond East London and no way to serve returning customers who'd moved away.
- Bridal is a high-consideration purchase: Lehengas and bridal wear can be £200–£1,000+. Customers need rich imagery, clear sizing, fabric detail and confidence-building content before they'll click "add to bag".
- Large, seasonal catalogue: Hundreds of SKUs across sarees, lehengas, designer suits and accessories - with new arrivals every week during wedding season. The site had to make managing that catalogue effortless.
- Cultural authenticity: The site needed to feel unmistakably South Asian and premium - not a generic Shopify template with a maroon colour swap.
